FAQs

It's understandable to have reservations about making a switch to solar power to help offset your energy use and costs. Here are answers to some of the most common questions we receive.

  • Can I get solar panels with low or zero credit?

Yes, we're able to offer no-credit options for various states. For more information, please reach out directly to us at one of the options at the bottom of this page.

  • What if my house or building is shaded?

If needed, our team can cut trees safely without damaging your property and without any money down. You get to decide if you want to keep your lumber or if you’d like us to take it.

  • Will my solar panel system still produce energy if it’s cloudy or rainy?

Yes, our panels are powered based on UV rays, not direct sun exposure. UV rays from the sun are constantly entering Earth's atmosphere, regardless of weather conditions.

  • What if I need a new roof?

If your roof is older or showing signs that it needs to be replaced, we have partnerships that allow us to get you a new roof without any money down before your solar panels are installed.

  • What if my panels stop working or get damaged?

All of our solar systems come with coverage for maintenance and labor with no money out of your pocket.

  • How much do the panels weigh?

Our panels weigh between 5 - 15 lbs. and are reinforced so that they do not damage your roof. Our policies also cover any damage that might happen to your roof.

  • What happens if I lose power?

We offer a variety of battery options to fit your energy use needs. Solar systems outfitted with batteries offer our customers the advantage of continuing to have their home or business powered, even when the power goes out due to a storm or grid failure.

  • Are there any incentives or tax credits available for solar panels?

Yes, the Federal Government offers a 30% tax credit for solar panels. Additionally, some states offer incentives called SRECs that can put money back into your pocket. Most utility companies also offer “Net Metering” programs which give solar panel customers credit that can be applied elsewhere.

  • What is a PPA?

PPAs are “Power Purchase Agreements” that allow customers to get their power at a lower rate than what they are currently paying without any additional money or costs. These agreements also guarantee immediate savings on your electric bill once your panels go live.

  • What happens at the end of my solar panel agreement if I get a PPA?

At the end of their agreement, PPA customers will have the option to take the system down at no cost, renew for one additional year, or purchase the system for whatever it evaluates to be worth at the time.

  • What happens to my solar panels if I move?

If you are planning to move, you will have the option to transfer your panels to the next homeowner at no cost to you. Additionally, there are options to purchase your system depending on the amount of time you’ve had solar panels. For more specific information, please contact us at one of the options below, and we will be happy to answer your questions.

  • Do you offer short-term options or agreements?

Yes, we offer a wide variety of term lengths to suit your needs and interests.
